Monday was supposed to be a rest day but since my friend-Zumba instructor won’t be here on Wednesday, we had our regular Wednesday’s Zumba on Monday. Didn’t have much energy but still managed to do the class successfully.

Tuesday was a rest day after 3 work-out days. Did a 1 hour walk with my puppy to get my steps full.

Wednesday I had to go to the city to give more blood for analysis. The weather was more or less OK so I cycled. After a visit to the doctor I did some thrift shopping. Found a pair of linen khaki shorts for 2€! Plus, in one store the sales lady told me: “You are looking at large sizes. Small sizes are on the other side of the store.” That was a nice compliment. 🙂 After a visit to the city I had a regular 30 minute walk and in the evening did 1 hour of all over muscle exersizes. I felt this strange pain in my left buttock. That made me worry.

Thursday morning I did a nice 30 minute walk with my dog but the weather was rainy, cold and windy. Since it was a running day, I had an hour long run in the evening. Half way there I felt the buttock pain again in my left side but decided to finish my run. I was really worried because I have read about another Estonian blogger’s sciatic pain and piriformis pain (check out Heidi’s blog here).

Friday morning I did a regular 30 minute walk. During the day I was baking and cooking all the time so standing on my feet. At 6 PM I felt sharp pain in my lower back in the left buttock area. I decided not to go for a run and rest a little and do a nice slow cycling hour later on in the evening.

Saturday was official rest day. I had a nice long walk with my dog. The weather was beautiful, sun was shining. I saw people running and wished it was me. I felt a little pain in my buttock during the day but that was nothing compared to the days before. Wondered if I could run on Sunday.

Running shoes on but no running for me 😦

On Sunday I really really wanted to go for a run. I decided to take it nice and slow. Usually I have the goal to improve my best time or last run’s time. This time my only goal was to not hurt myself and go totally by how my back and ass are feeling. My average speed was only 7,02 km/h but I managed to run my almost 7 kilometre lap without any pain. I was so relieved. I think I listened to my legs and butt during this run more than my music. 😀 I just really didn’t want to overdo it and. Health is the most important.

In total:

3 hours 30 minutes of walking

2 hours of cycling

1 hour of Zumba

1 hour of muscle exercizes

2 hours of running

This week would have been a great but the sciatic pain really f*cked up my otherwise good week. I’m really looking forward to getting better and running more and faster again. Narva Energy Run in less than 2 weeks. I don’t want to miss that, I really don’t.

Workout Week 15.–21.07.2013

In Workout Week posts I will tell you everything about my last week’s workouts.

Monday was supposed to be a running day but since I was so dehydrated last week while working on the island, I suffered major leg cramps and couldn’t run that day. I did about 30 min of cycling and 1 hour walk with my dog. Even that was pretty painful.

Tuesday I had a regular 30 minute walk and did 1 hour of running. Still felt some pain in my legs from the cramping on previous days.

Wednesday was Zumba and walking day, plus me and my friend had to do a children’s camp which included childern-Zumba and active games.  I could still feel pain in my right leg where I had a really bad cramp on Monday. That really made me worry.

Thursday I took an hour long walk with my puppy and after that did an hour of all over exercizes for my muscles. Boring but effective since I was sore the next day. I should really fit atleast 1 hour of muscle exercizes every week since my muscles are already decreasing (when compared to May for example).

Friday morning at 9 AM I had a doctor’s appointment to assure my mom that I’m not ruining my health with LCHF. She isn’t a believer in what I do when it comes to low carb. The weather was OK, so I cycled to the city. All together about 50 minutes there and back. In the evening had a regular 30 minute walk. My leg pain finally had gone away.

Saturday was really really weird. I felt really tired and was in a grumpy mood all day long. God, I was no fun on Saturday lol. I decided to pick a new running lap since the “old new” one got boring already. I really hate running one straight line there and back. So I did a new one, still in a straight line unfortunately. So I had a 1 hour run on Saturday and felt a lot better after that.

Sunday I just did a simple 1 hour run. Nothing special. Should have put more clothes on though, the weather wasn’t great: windy and cold.

In total:

3 hours and 30 minutes of walking

1 hour and 20 minutes of cycling

1 hour and 30 minutes of Zumba

1 hour of muscle exercizes

3 hours of running

This was an exceptionally great week (minus the leg cramps and pain). Hopefully next week is just as active and good.
